Saw this today over at housemartin. *sigh* Now I really want to do a piece with some cute little mushrooms.

I have four new prints in the shop! I love these little guys. They can be purchased individually or as a set.
My prints are featured over at Poppy Talk today! Yay! I love that blog, a nice surprise to see my work there.
Thanks Poppytalk!
I always *try* to remember to put this on before painting (though many of my clothes are still paint stained!). It was my grandmothers apron that she used to cook in. I like that she used it everyday doing something she felt passionate about and that now I use it everyday doing something I love.
We had a nice holiday and the first white christmas in memory! Here is my little holiday nut looking very much the little elf.
I plan on using the rest of the week working on some new pieces, hopefully a couple new prints in the shop!
Yes there seems to be a theme around here. I’m not sure where it started, maybe here:
(Did you know this is also a movie? very cute!)
Now it has even become part of our holiday decor. This is Martha’s version:
And here is ours (I was lucky enough to borrow a couple steiffs from my parents:)
It is howling past my window now.
I will be adding a new item to my etsy shop tomorrow. Here’s a little sneak peek:
These are really so cute. I took the fawn image from one of my paintings and created these pendants. They will also come with a fun little mini print of the same image.
So today, sadly, we cut down the tree in our front yard. It was sad to see it go, even if it did endlessly drop little prickly things on us. J hung a swing from it years ago on fathers day, so that was probably the hardest part for the kids.
It put the image of a tree stump in my head, though, so I ran off and did this:
I am smitten! It will be up in the shop along with a couple new prints this weekend.
Many of the paintings I do are given as gifts. Here is a piece I did a little while ago for a grandpa. They both love baseball and playing catch. I really liked how it turned out.
Oh am I in love. Yes I love you too dear, but etsy is my new shopping love. It is so hard to find toys for boys sometimes that you love to give as much as he will love to play with. Well today I was so excited to find this.
I had a hard time deciding which one. I got it here. It is such a lovely charming shop! Happy shopping!
I added a couple new prints to my etsy shop today. I think they are really sweet and simple and would be lovely in a little girls room. They are part of a series I’m working on. More on the way soon!
We pretty much had a nice lazy day around here. I got a lot of work done, though, while the kids hung out in their jammies most of the day.
Here is a custom portrait I did a little bit ago for a cute family in New Zealand.
Happy Thanksgiving! We are off to spend time with family. Here is a picture from our walk earlier.
This is our puppy George Washington. He’s not so little anymore (he joined us this past summer). We do love this goofy fluff ball even if he does talk a lot and dig big holes. By the way, Holly named him, it was George Washington if he was a boy and Helen Keller if he was a girl. Guess what they study these days in the first grade!
I got the kids the coolest thing for Christmas yesterday on etsy at Owly Shadow Puppets. I got Holly the owl and Ian a dinosaur (shhhh). I think they will have so much fun creating stories with the shadows these guys create. I am loving buying my gifts on etsy this year! I will keep posting all the cool things I find.
It’s not too late to order a portrait for the holidays! They make wonderful gifts for mom, dad, grandma, grandpa and as Cool Mom Picks pointed out, even those little one’s enjoying their first Christmas. Thanks to the gals over at Cool Mom Picks for choosing Kiki and Polly for their Holiday gift guide!
As always the weekend flew by. I worked on custom portraits and stepped out today to run a few errands. The kids had fun at the photo booth at the mall. Holly is particularly skilled at hamming it up. The kids are off from school alllllll week, so we will be heading to the craft store for something for them to do.
Well, I thought it was time. I love (LOVE) my daily sit down to catch up on all the great blogs out there and figured it’s about time to start one of my own.
I just opened my etsy shop and am very excited. I love my portrait work but it’s fun to just paint whenever an idea hits. Please take a look!
So, I’ll start this out on the right foot and make the pledge!
