The Floodline Project
I am excited to announce the abstract pieces I am calling the floodline project are now available to purchase! I opened a big cartel shop to sell the work that comes out of this process because I feel like they’re a bit separate from the work I have in my etsy shop . They are all done on a gorgeous cold press watercolor paper with acrylic paint and fabric dye. I had so much fun working on them.
I hope you enjoy looking at some of my results!
next week
Forgive me for my summer laziness around these parts. We’re in the last stretch of summer break and as much as I enjoy having the kids around, I’m looking forward to the daily routine of school. So next week I will finally (FINALLY) share all the pieces I worked on last spring and this summer. A small preview here, but they will all be up and for sale on September 1st. Have a wonderful weekend (here’s one of my personal favs)
soon…
see just a few here
in the background
Another busy day today, have a happy weekend!
(photo is what was left behind on my work suface after finishing up a project yesterday)
the days run away
Every summer goes faster than the last. We’ve had a really nice one so far, but definitely at a break neck pace. That’s what it feels like, anyhow. Between family getaways, the kids’ summer camps, riding and working, I barely know what day it is. Happily, even with how busy we’ve been, I think it has been one of the best. I really want to finally share some pieces I did earlier in the summer and have them available for sale by the end of the weekend, that’s the goal anyway. We’ll see how it goes!
brilliant
I first saw images of this on pinterest and was immediately intrigued. These are posters are for a new single by the band Dry the River in collaboration with Xavier Barrade of FOAM. So brilliant…

art in the home
There is a small tour (and interview) of art in our home today over at bloesom blog if you’d like to take a peek!
What’s left behind
So I was recently cleaning my studio (something way, WAY past due) and was replacing my work table surface with fresh canvas. I cover my big work table where I due most of my painting with canvas so I can just make a mess and not worry about it. I think the smudges and drips left behind from are quite pretty, so I took a couple of pieces and saved them. One section got stretched onto a 10″x10″ wood frame and a smaller 4″x4″ section got framed. I will be putting these up in my etsy shop later today if anyone is interested!
beginning to end
Here are some pics I took of a recent painting from beginning to end. It is a HUGE painting (acrylic on paper) roughly 3ft by 5ft.
i see a trend emerging
The last few personal paintings I’ve completed have a common thread. I suppose it was only a matter of time before horses became a subject of my work….
floored
For some reason, I find myself doing a lot of my painting on the floor recently. I’ve been doing some work on large paper and like being able to spread it out and see it all at once. Unfortunately, this also means our dining room has paints and brushes and all sorts of messy rags about. Ah well, such is life I suppose!
pdxers!
I will be here this Saturday, please stop by and say hi!
last few for now…
and…
a few more
I should have the last few uploaded to share later today.

I am thrilled to share that I will be participating in the We heart handmade event this Saturday at West Elm in NW Portland from 1to 6pm (west elm, 1201 NW Couch Street, corner of Couch and 12th Ave). A pop up event with etsy, there will be food, drinks, music, a photo booth and, of course some amazing vendors. I hope you can stop by!
