Yesterday the kids enjoyed the official eating of the chocolate bunny. And I don’t know if it’s because of the change in season, but I noticed all my latest paintings looked very springish all lined up.

shop update
Here is another one of the prints that will be available in my shop tomorrow. I am so ridiculously excited about these guys. I will also be adding some original paintings to my shop.
birthday treasures
I have been busy working away this weekend on some really fun little projects. First, I finished up these sweet little boxes for my twin nieces’ third birthday coming up. I had so much fun filling these up with little treasures. I made them each a set of postcards and a sweet little ladybud mailbag to deliver them with. I also included cute little pouches from here and filled them with crayons. There are cute little mushroom stamps and a blank board book for them to fill up with their own creations!
Also, I have been working away on a new series of pieces using pages from a vintage children’s book. I am just in love with these! They will be part of a big shop update this week. Here’s a little peek:
*I just reread my post…I’m not sure I said ‘cute’ and ‘little’ enough
print love
I was lucky enough to be mentioned on another of my favorite blogs today! Sfgirlbybay was kind enough to post about my prints. Thank you so much!
spring is coming
I just put up some new prints in the shop. Both feature a bunny. Spring is coming, yay!
Can you tell I have a thing for pull toys. My kids have grown out of them, so gone are my excuses to snap up all the cute ones I see out there.
swifts
My very favorite Portland tradition our family has is to go watch the Chapman swifts make their annual trip down the schools chimney. Every year we say this is Portland at it’s best! Here is a new print inspired by this yearly event. (you’ll have to wait until next fall to see them again)
growing
My portrait paintings recently became available over at the beautiful new grow modern, including a few exclusive designs.
new prints in the shop
I have four new prints in the shop! I love these little guys. They can be purchased individually or as a set.
nice surprise!
My prints are featured over at Poppy Talk today! Yay! I love that blog, a nice surprise to see my work there.
Thanks Poppytalk!
Windy Day!
It is howling past my window now.
I will be adding a new item to my etsy shop tomorrow. Here’s a little sneak peek:
These are really so cute. I took the fawn image from one of my paintings and created these pendants. They will also come with a fun little mini print of the same image.
Today’s inspiration
So today, sadly, we cut down the tree in our front yard. It was sad to see it go, even if it did endlessly drop little prickly things on us. J hung a swing from it years ago on fathers day, so that was probably the hardest part for the kids.
It put the image of a tree stump in my head, though, so I ran off and did this:
I am smitten! It will be up in the shop along with a couple new prints this weekend.
Another custom piece…
Many of the paintings I do are given as gifts. Here is a piece I did a little while ago for a grandpa. They both love baseball and playing catch. I really liked how it turned out.
New Prints!
I added a couple new prints to my etsy shop today. I think they are really sweet and simple and would be lovely in a little girls room. They are part of a series I’m working on. More on the way soon!
Black Friday, lazy Friday
We pretty much had a nice lazy day around here. I got a lot of work done, though, while the kids hung out in their jammies most of the day.
Here is a custom portrait I did a little bit ago for a cute family in New Zealand.
Holiday gifts
It’s not too late to order a portrait for the holidays! They make wonderful gifts for mom, dad, grandma, grandpa and as Cool Mom Picks pointed out, even those little one’s enjoying their first Christmas. Thanks to the gals over at Cool Mom Picks for choosing Kiki and Polly for their Holiday gift guide!
