new work
will be making its way to the shop this weekend! I have quite a few pieces that I have been working on and am excited to share them. This piece is ‘almost done’ and this picture shows my new favorite way to look at it. Remember ‘the tape?’ Well, I got some for myself too, and it was so worth it.
it’s love
In honor of the upcoming holiday celebrating all that is pink and lovely, I thought I would offer a Valentine’s Day discount on all my prints over in my etsy shop. From now through Saturday if you buy one print each additional print is half off. Just leave the two little words (it’s love) in comments to seller at checkout. I will issue your discount through paypal after I receive your order!
picture break
In college I had a photography professor who said that he liked to paint in the midst of working on his photography because it rewarded him with instant results. Ironically, I now find myself doing the exact opposite. I have my hand in several exciting projects right now, painting, and I have been turning to photography for an instant gradification break now and then.
cozy day
We got a bit of snow today (more than expected), but luckily the kids were already off to school by the time it really hit. Snow is enough of a novelty here, that school is cancelled at the drop of a snowflake. So, I am happily working away and enjoying the view. I am finishing up some orders and working on a couple exciting projects I will share soon! Oh and lots, lots of new work that will be available as prints very soon.
prints in the real world
It’s always fun for me to see where my work ends up after it is sent off to its new home. I was thrilled to see a few of my prints hanging in this lovely home.
building a bridge
I volunteered to work on my daughter’s class auction project. If you have school aged children you know what this is. To raise money each class creates something to be auctioned off. I actually really enjoy doing it and thinking of something that has not been done. So, I think we’ve settled on creating a photo transfer of one of the Portland bridges. It will actually be made up of many, many small transfers that will be framed together to create the image of the bridge. It should be a really cool piece. Here is a little peek at my test squares. I am using wintergreen oil for these transfers so my house has a nice minty freshness! I will post the finished piece when it’s done.
returning routine
The kids are back in school and I’m working my way back into my days. With the holiday rush over I am itching to get going on some new pieces. Here’s a peek at a painting I started on.
a holiday in pictures
We had a really wonderful holiday this year. After weeks of snow it is now all the consistency of a slushy. We got our last good snowfall Christmas morning, what timing! Here are some of my favorite pictures, and no I didn’t get a polaroid camera, but quite possible something better. I have been eagerly anticipating the windows version of this program to turn your digital photos into ‘polaroids,’ and it is now available. Oh the hours I will now spend playing with this…

sweet little pendant
I have a beautiful new little pendant in my shop. It is a sterling silver pendant with your choice of baby girl, girl, baby boy and boy image. They come with a sweet little print of the same image and beautifully packaged. These would make an amazing gift for any mother!
Bloesem
Irene at Bloesem was kind enough to do a post on my work on both Bloesem and Bloesem kids! Thank you! And thank you for all the shoe love comments over there. They are my favorite pair right now and thought the color went perfectly with the prints I was photographing.
fawn girl
A quick little note to say I added a new print to the shop. I painted this piece a while ago and have never made a print, but I saw it sitting in a file this morning and had a new appreciation for her, so here she is!
More Prints
A few more prints have made their way into the shop, here is a peek…
have a wonderful weekend!
new in the shop
I have just added a couple new prints to the shop. They are part of a large series I’ve been working on, so expect more over the coming weeks. They are done on painted wallpaper so they have a subtle, beautiful texture.
cute from every angle
I wanted to show you the back of my new portrait frames. Each frame is backed with fun paper coordinated to your frame color. Because it’s those little details that make me smile!
New Wallpaper Options!
I am now offering several new options in my wallpaper panel series. A really lovely new wallpaper, white circles, is simple and works wonderfully for both boys and girls rooms. Also, three new designs are available. I’ve had the Bremen Town Musicians available for a while now in my etsy shop and now you can get them on any wallpaper of your choice! The other two new designs are a bird in flight and the paper airplane.
Framed Portraits!
I am now offering a framing option for my portraits, and these are gorgeous frames! I am currently offering them in 8″x10″, 11″x14″ and 16″x20″ sizes. Also, the below pics show a new portrait. I used my son as the subject, well he and his ‘lumpy.’ This is his very well loved constant companion. You can order one with your own child and their best bud here. And while this paticular painting shows a boy, obviously girls have their best bud, too. So, it is most definitely available as a portrait for a little girl. This is probably a good time to say that these portraits make a wonderful holiday gift. I will be taking orders for Christmas up until early December (but the sooner the better, right?).
