Yesterday we went down to the stables for my daughter’s birthday party. I think all the girls (and my son) had a great time!
‘gold’ horses for each girl (yes, gold spray paint)
horse ribbons (the buttons in the center are vintage and then I attempted to make the ribbon)
pink horses topped the cake
and of course, the best part, riding!
i LOVE this. (and the last post on your home…)
oh how much fun would that have been – love the ribbons and the gold horses. And as for the peeks into your home in the last post – lovely. I now have couch envy!
I found you looking for these pink horse candles on Pinterest – the link went to your main page and I finally found this post I was wondering if they’re all candle, or if the horses are plastic? Did you make them or buy them? Thanks! I’m going to repost with the correct link
Hi Megan-I made these by painting little plastic horses and then attaching the birthday candles to them
They’re super cool – did you use a special kind of food-safe paint or did you just trust an acrylic to not flake off?
I just used acrylic. I didn’t paint the bottom and since they were only on the cake a moment, i wasn’t too worried.
How did you attach the candles to the horses?? Did you just hot glue them? Also, where did you find the little horses?
Alexis
I just melted the bottom of each candle so that it would stay put on each horse. The little horses were just from a craft store and I painted each in varying shades of pink!
Oh I love the pony candles! My mom owns a small boarding stable so I have a feeling pony parties will be in our future soon enough (my son is only now turning 2, so it will be a few years still)
