everyday style
I think I just may have to order the Sartorialist’s book.
Once
Another print just added, ‘Once.’ If you are in the Portland area, the original paintings of these new pieces, as well as a few others, are now available at Noun. I am so excited to be showing there! They carry an amazing selection of really, really great stuff and as a bonus St. Cupcake resides in the back!
new prints to beat the heat
I have some new prints in my etsy shop. I wish I could jump into them right about now to cool off!
and you thought we used them for rain here…
It is hot, HOT here today. Most people here in Portland do not have air conditioning, so you have to get creative. I woke up to this interesting display on our house (J was up at the crack of dawn ‘shading’ the house, yes those are umbrellas).
weekend snapshots
We spent the weekend camping along a beautiful stretch of river…

fun summer read
I was initially drawn to it by the cover photo as I am such a sucker for a book cover. In college I worked at stock photo agency and a lot of the images we pulled were for book covers. Anyhow, it was a fun peek into the art world, and a nice easy summer read.
beauty
My son just brought home this wonderful treasure from the pool. I hope the rest of the weekend is this beautiful.
redo
So just to keep things interesting, as one can never have to much to do, I started a little home project the other night. I was never completely happy with the wood boxes we use as drawers (seen here). I had previously covered them in wallpaper. I took that off and have started covering them in cut out fabric (actually linen book cloth). So far I really like the look.
sweet treat
We treated ourselves to some yummy waffles from the waffle window this morning (if you’re in Portland it’s at Hawthorne and 37th). Tomorrow we’re treating ourselves to Harry Potter, can’t wait!
making up for lost time
look at me, three posts in one day. Every summer, our kids beg, beg, beg for a tree house. The problem, we don’t have a tree. Look at these! Make it a little larger and add some indoor plumbing and I’d live in it!Worapong Manupipatpong found via ohdeeoh

the pattern of the every day
I’m trying to stay on top of this blog, but with summer and all that comes with it (aka the children who are currently playing hospital by tearing through my office looking for materials to use as a sling) it’s hard. Plus I have so many great pieces to work on for clients as well as fun projects. Luckily the kids have gotten a bit more in to the swing of summer, yesterday we all ended up working on art together at the dining room table for hours, each quietly making away. All the shavings from their colored pencils created really amazing, colorful patterns.

a few more originals….
A few new originals just made their way to my etsy store. These are larger at 18″x18″ on birch wood panel.
Originals
Phew! Yesterday I took down one show and hung another. I now have some paintings down at Little Urbanites in the Pearl District. So I am adding several originals to my etsy shop. I have more I plan to add later in the week. Also for good measure, there is a new print! Enjoy! Oh, I have a few things coming up this week so any ordersplaced after today won’t ship until the11th
